Hypnotherapy for Anxiety and Panic Attacks

In today's frenetic world feeling anxious has become common place for many people. For some anxiety may present in what seems to be short bouts, for others it may be a perpetual feeling they find hard to shake off and in more severe cases can result in panic attacks. In reality what you are actually experiencing is fear, and in this case a form of free-floating fear, for which there may be no specific concrete threat and may in fact be harmless. However, like a bad smell, it can linger on the edge of your awareness, no matter how hard you try to get rid of it.

Through your mind-body link fear can present itself physically in many ways including: muscle weakness, muscular pain, fatigue, poor appetite, insomnia, forgetfulness and general apathy. In more severe cases you may experience: palpitations, sweating, shaking, and nausea, difficulty in breathing and chest and abdominal pains.

Fear may relate to something that happened in your past, be driven by a lack of knowledge or understanding, or it may be beliefs instilled in you by others. Whatever the root cause, fear can be very convincing and can go on to create its own reality. The brain automatically reacts to fear through the fight or flight response. Repetition of the same response hardwires it in to your unconscious brain causing it to become an involuntary reaction e.g. breaking out in a sweat, shaking, stomach cramps. To undo the fear you need to breakdown its reality and the responses it has created within you.
